As part of our Northern Mindanao Adventure, we travelled to Iligan City.
Iligan City is a highly urbanized city located just north of Lanao del Norte Province. Iligan used to be the former capital of Lanao del Norte. It is a two-hour ride from Cagayan de Oro City.
Iligan is known as the City of Majestic Waterfalls. We went to Iligan to visit its two famous waterfalls: Maria Christina Falls and Tinago Falls.
Maria Christina Falls is Iligan City's most famous landmark. Aside from being a famous tourist destination, it is also a primary source of electricity in the city. A NAPOCOR plant is located near the area.
When we arrived, we proceeded directly to the third floor of the power plant to view the majestic falls. Too bad, only one of the falls is open. Nonetheless, the view was very beautiful and worth the trip.

After visiting Maria Christina Falls, we went straight to another famous waterfall in Iligan: The Tinago Falls
