Iligan City: Tinago Falls (The most beautiful place I have seen.)

It took us about thirty minutes to travel from Maria Christina Falls to Tinago Falls.  This was actually my first time to hear about the falls.  I thought it was just like the other waterfalls we saw in Camiguin the other day.  I also hoped that it would be far better than Hinulugang Taktak, the infamous waterfalls in my hometown.

Upon arriving at the entrance of Tinago Falls, we were greeted by a tarp with the picture of the mayor and Sam Milby and KC Concepcion.  We asked our tour guide what is KC and Sam doing in the picture.  We found out that Tinago Falls was one of the locations of their movie "Forever and a Day," the 18th Anniversary offering of Star Cinema.

Mayor, KC, and Sam welcomed us to Tinago Falls
We then  proceeded to descend to the water falls.  To see the falls, you have to trek an approximately 500-step winding staircase.  Since we were all physically fit, going down was a breeze (ahem! ahem!).  While going down, we can feel the breeze and mist radiating from the waterfalls.  We can also hear the sound of drops - it sounded like music to our ears.

You have to endure the approx. 500 steps to see the falls...

We were all pagod when we arrived down.  However, once we reached the falls, our efforts paid up because of the beautiful view.  To date, Tinago falls for me is still the most beautiful place I have seen.  The falls is tucked in a deep jungle-clad ravine full of lush flora.  Its very cold waters cascade beautifully into a blue lagoon.

Very beautiful falls...

When we saw the waterfalls, we cannot help but take lots of pictures of it with ourselves.

Pa-kodak agad...
After taking pictures, our tour guide encouraged us to swim.  We were advised, however, to swim with life jackets since a lot have already drowned in the area.  We were very excited to swim, the water was cold enough to beat the very hot weather that day.

The water was perfect!

When you are bored from swimming, you can actually climb the rocks surrounding the falls jump from it, as I did.

Picture of me jumping from the falls!

Tourists can also venture into the cave inside the falls.  It is a good place to listen to the rumbling waters.

You can ride the bamboo raft to go near the falls...

Us, riding the raft...
Visiting Tinago Falls was one of the best trips I had.

Tinago Falls is an ideal place to experience nature at its finest.  I just hope that the falls will live up to its name "Tinago" which means hidden so its natural beauty will forever be preserved.
